Why is there a map when I look at a photo?
The map is displaying the location of where the photo was taken. When a user uploads a photo, they either automatically
(if they have the right camera) upload the location or manually find it on a map. We are constantly trying to get the
most accurate locations, so please let us know if one is not correct
When I add a new beach, why is it not immediately online?
We try our best to keep the site family friendly and our infomation as accurate as possible at all times. To ensure this,
each time a new piece of information is uploaded to our site, our staff will take a look and make sure that it is O.K.
Why do I see a 'ShareThis' link everywhere?
We included the 'ShareThis' feature on our site in an effort to help spread the word about KeepofftheDunes.com. This way you can
share links with friends and family more easily. "ShareThis is a free one-step sharing tool that makes sharing online hassle free.
It is the easiest and most efficient way to share anything you want, where you want, to who you want!" (ShareThis.com)
What is a Local Link?
A Local Link is a link to a website that you feel would be helpful for people viewing the beaches page. For instance, a clam shack's
website might be great because someone going to that beach may want to have a bite to eat while they are there.
What if I want to submit a beach but I don't know the location?
If this is the case, please do not fill out the "Add New Beach" form, just write us a quick note on the contact page
and we will try our best to find it.
How many countries are represented in your list of beaches?
Our focus started on the United States. While we are in our beta stage, we will include only the United States and Bermuda.
To find beaches in Bermuda, just type "Bermuda" into the search box. Future releases will include more countries, we are already
working on locating thousands of beaches from other countries.
